01The brief (imagined)

The starting point

Roche & Associés (fictional) is a 24-person Brussels business law firm. Its website looked like every other: columns, scales of justice, jargon. The imagined brief: inspire trust in a second, make fees readable, and let people book a meeting without picking up the phone — in the firm’s working languages.

02Goals

What the website had to achieve

  1. 01

Show fees clearly (rates, fixed fees, simulator)

  2. 02

Book a first meeting online in under two minutes

  3. 03

Prove expertise through content: useful articles, not slogans

  4. 04

Give clients a secure portal (two-factor authentication)

03Research & inspiration

What we observed

  • SMEs’ first hesitation about lawyers is the unknown cost. Fee transparency becomes a differentiator.
  • Visitors look for a person first: a lawyer’s name and face matter more than the logo.
  • Inspirations: law-review layouts, bound editions, the rigour of typographic rules — with no gavel or scales clichés.
