Two benches, a quay, a lot of sawdust.

Founded in 2011 in a former warehouse in the port of Antwerp, Atelier Nord is now three cabinetmakers and an apprentice.

Our story

Jonas Verhaegen learned the trade with an antique-furniture restorer in Ghent. He kept one obsession from it: joints that hold without glue or screws, and furniture you repair rather than replace.

Lise Maes joined him in 2016, with a design degree and a taste for taut lines. Together they draw everything that leaves the workshop.

  • Traditional joineryMortise and tenon, dovetails.
  • Solvent-free finishesPlant oils and natural waxes.
  • Repairable for lifeWe take back and restore our pieces.
